Sports injuries, muscle strains and joint problems are often managed by a team: your sports physician or GP, your physiotherapist and you. When your doctor prescribes a compounded medicine as part of that plan, ACPHARM can prepare it.
Topical creams and gels
Some medicines can be prepared as a cream or gel that is applied to the skin over the affected area, such as a knee, shoulder or elbow. Your doctor decides whether a topical form suits you, and which ingredients and strength to prescribe.
Working with your care team
We work with sports physicians, GPs and physiotherapists to understand your treatment plan. Each medicine is prepared for you as an individual, on a prescription from a registered prescriber.
How it works
- Talk to your doctor about whether a compounded medicine is right for your treatment plan.
- Send us the prescription. Your doctor can email it to us, or you can bring it to our pharmacy in Ashmore.
- Collect or have it delivered. Pick up in Ashmore, or choose delivery anywhere in Australia.
A valid prescription from an Australian registered prescriber is required.
Compounded medicines are prepared for an individual patient on prescription. They are not assessed by the TGA for safety, quality or efficacy.
