Amanda started working with Australian Custom Pharmaceuticals in 2003 as a lab technician after working in pharmacies both locally and in the Northern Territory. Since starting at ACPHARM, she has completed a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Pharmacology and Biotechnology at the University of NSW where she was in receipt of a number of awards and scholarships for outstanding achievement and has completed the inaugural Masters of Pharmacy degree at the University of Technology Sydney.
Amanda has had hands on experience in all facets of the business including sterile and non-sterile compounding and was the first cleanroom manager at ACPHARM when we first began producing sterile products. She has been involved in the formulation of many products at ACPHARM and was key to the implementation of new systems allowing the pharmacy to track all aspects of sterile orders prior to the implementation of our current web based system.
Amanda is currently responsible for overseeing the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices into our sterile facility as well as developing evidence based educational material for the medical profession as well as consumer medicines information. She has recently had her first paper published in the Journal of Drug Discovery which was co-authored with other scientists both in Australia and Italy on the loco-regional approach to the treatment of lung cancer and is currently a member of the academic advisory committee for the development of an advanced practice higher degree in pharmaceutical compounding. She is a member of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists Australia, the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the Australian College of Pharmacy.
